Este año no ha podido ser… El temido Coronavirus no nos ha dejado disfrutar de nuestra Feria. Pero si hay algo que caracteriza a los sevillano/as es su alegría y su forma de vivir la vida y ya estamos pensando en la Feria de Abril 2021, que, sin duda, viviremos con el doble de intensidad.
This year it could not be… The dreaded Coronavirus has not let us enjoy our Fair. But if there is one thing that characterizes the sevillano/as, this is their joy and their way of living life and we are already thinking about the April 2021 Fair, which we will undoubtedly live with twice the intensity.

- “Pescaíto” Así se inaugura la Feria de Sevilla. El primer día de Feria, sábado por la noche, nos reunimos en las tradicionales casetas engalanado/as con nuestros mejores trajes de flamenca para cenar todos juntos a base de un delicioso “pescaíto frito” (por supuesto, sin olvidarnos del jamón y el queso).
This is how the Seville Fair opens. On the first day of Feria, Saturday night, we meet in the traditional sheds with our best flamenco costumes to dine together based on a delicious “fried fish” (of course, not forgetting the ham and cheese).

2. “Rebujito” ¿Y con qué bebida se acompaña el “pescaíto”? Pues con esta refrescante mezcla de vino manzanilla o fino con gaseosa y hierbabuena que se sirve en una gran jarra desde la que se va sirviendo al grupo en pequeños vasos. Sin duda, la bebida estrella de la Feria de Abril (y que no suele beberse el resto del año).
And with what drink is the “pescaíto” accompanied? Well, with this refreshing blend of chamomile or fine wine with soda and mint served in a large jug from which the group is served in small glasses. Without a doubt, the best drink of the April Fair (and it is not usually drunk for the rest of the year).

3. “Portada” o “Portá” Tras la “cena del pescaíto” llega la hora de acercarnos a la “Portada” (en el siguiente paso te explicamos el porqué). Cada año tiene un diseño único, inspirado en personas, edificios o eventos míticos (Expo de 1992, Hotel Alfonso XVIII, etc.). Una curiosidad: la tradición sevillana es quedar en la Portada como lugar de encuentro para nunca encontrarse debido a las cientos de personas que se agolpan debajo.
After the “Cena del Pescaíto” it is time to approach the “Portada” (in the next step we explain why). Each year it has a unique design, inspired by people, buildings or mythical events (Expo 1992, Hotel Alfonso XVIII, etc.). A curiosity: the Sevillian tradition is to be left on the Portada as a meeting place to never meet because of the hundreds of people who are stuck underneath.
4. “Alumbrao” Marca el inicio de la Feria de Abril y tiene lugar el sábado a las 12 de la noche. Partiendo de la portada, tramo a tramo, se encienden todas las bombillas de las calles que alumbrarán el recinto ferial. Te recomendamos llegar con bastante antelación si quieres conseguir un buen sitio.
Marks the beginning of the April Fair and takes place on Saturday at 12 o’night. Starting from the Portada, little by little, all the light bulbs of the streets that will light the fairgrounds are lit. We recommend arriving well in advance if you want to get a good place.
5. “Calle del Infierno” El real de la Feria se divide en dos grandes zonas: la dedicada a las casetas y un gran parque de atracciones para pequeños y mayores llamado “Calle del Infierno”. Así que no te asustes cuando paseando por la feria escuches: “Vámonos a la Calle del Infierno”.
The area of the Fair is divided into two large areas: the one dedicated to booths and a large amusement park for young and old called “Calle del Infierno” (Hell Street). So don’t panic when walking around the fair, listen, “Let’s go to Hell Street.”
